REGULATORS GO TO THE MOVIES

This month, the Indian River Regulators are paying tribute to one of our favorite movies, PALE RIDER.  A few months ago, one of our favorite cowboys actually shot a match “RPR” style with only one pistol, exchanging the cylinder just like the Preacher.  If anyone would like to try to duplicate this fancy style, we will open it as a category for this match.  Let’s see how many “real pale riders” there are out there!

Congratulations to all the cowboys and cowgirls that participated in the Last Stand and the Ides of March.  We saw a lot of familiar faces and old friends!  We also saw a lot of people walking away with a lot of bling!  Hope you folks had as much fun as we did!  Mule Camp is just around the corner, and we will have special guest match directors for our own Alligator Camp in May.  The Western Three Gun East Coast Championship will be in April at the Orlando gun range, as will the Sunshine State Games SASS event in May (see Night Train Kate for applications).  Both these events are pre-registry only.

COWBOY CLASS & R/O CLASS

We will be offering a Level I R/O class the Sunday after our regular monthly match in June.  If you are interested in attending the class, please call Turkey Creek Red so we can have appropriate teaching materials ready.  The class will begin at 9:00 am in the action area at Port Malabar.  You will need to pack a lunch.  The cost is $10.

The monthly cowboy class is the first Saturday of the month.  This is a great opportunity to introduce someone to the sport, or to get a “refresher”.  If you are interested, or know someone who would like to try out cowboy action shooting, please call Turkey Creek Red at (321)728-7928 or Utah at (321)951-1223.

FROM THE PONY EXPRESS

Safety is always first and foremost.  Please remember Port Malabar Rifle and Pistol Club is a private range, and we have a lot of people shooting in areas you can’t always see.  Please do not handle your guns unnecessarily at your vehicle when transferring them to gun carts.  Be mindful of your muzzle direction.  Resist the urge to show off that new fancy rig until you are inside the action area in a designated safe area.  Observe the 10mph speed limit.  Please park in the open lot across from the registration area and NOT along the bullseye line.  Additional parking is available in the pistol practice area just south of Bay 1.  Parking inside the action area is limited to handicapped vehicles without trailers and Indian River Regulator Cowboy Council members.  Your support and consideration in these areas will make us better neighbors with out other shooting disciplines.

If you are a member, of PMRPC please refer to your monthly news letter regarding the new rules for use of the action area, or see Turkey Creek Red

Remember, at the Port Malabar Rifle and Pistol Club, all juniors shoot free of charge.  This is an excellent way to get more young people involved in our wonderful sport.  If you know someone who might be interested in cowboy action shooting, please encourage them to attend the cowboy class and come join the fun!

Got comments? Suggestions? Criticisms? Got an idea for a stage?  WE WANT YOUR INPUT!  This is YOUR shoot and we feel this truly is an interactive sport!  You can write us, call us at (321) 728-7928 or e-mail us at Ccoll28198@aol.com  – even if you want to remain a “Ghost Writer”.  We members of the press know how to protect our sources.  Get involved!

GOD BLESS AMERICA  &  HAPPY TRAILS
